Where

The workshop will be held at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Florianópolis is the capital of the state of Santa Catarina, in the south of Brazil.  It is made up of one main island (Santa Catarina Island) a continental part and surrounding small islands which boast more than 42 beaches, lagoons and waterfalls. UFSC is the third largest university in Brazil and is ranked the 9th top university in Latin America. It has approximately 44.000 graduate and undergraduate students and a high research output. UFSC has more than 300 international partnerships and cooperation agreements with educational institutions all over the world. The workshop will be hosted in the Integrated Physical Space (Espaço Físico Integrado) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Getting Here

​

The nearest airport is the Hercílio Luz International Airport in Florianópolis.  A taxi from the airport to the town centre costs around 30 BRL (~€7) and takes approximately 30 minutes. International flights typically involve a transit in Rio de Janiero or São Paulo.
